Technical Support / QA Tester
We're looking for a pro-active individual to support our team of developers, acting as the first port of call for any technical questions from other areas of the business and managing our processes, documentation and testing.
You’ll be an intelligent, super organised person who thrives on problem solving. You'll enjoy working efficiently and get a kick out of creating processes and systems which enable you and our teams to be more effective and have a bigger impact.
You’ll have a customer facing or technical background (ideally a mixture of both), and IT related, product management or SaaS experience would be a bonus within our working environment.
You'll love helping people and will enjoy interacting with them on a daily basis. You’ll thrive on providing exceptional customer experience, ensuring everything you do is followed through on and held to high standards.
We believe that making a website should be simple. But with over 50% of small businesses in the UK without one, we want to break down the barriers and ensure that every small business can benefit from being seen online. We believe in doing everything we can to help individuals and small businesses maximise their online presence.
We are committed to providing great service, straight-talking information and the right tools for making business online a success. We believe in our nation of shopkeepers and want to ensure that everyone is able to leverage the advantages of digital innovation.
Our offices are based just past Brighton University on the Lewes Road in a sustainable development. Our building is made with local materials such as sweet chestnut timber cladding and East Sussex clay, and we’re powered by wind turbines, solar heating panels and collected surface water. We strive to work in a way that is sustainable, ethically responsible and environmentally friendly. We value integrity, honesty, transparency and thoughtfulness.
Customer success is at the heart of our business: we are successful when our customers achieve their dreams.
About The Role
As the Technical Support / QA Tester, you'll work closely with our Product Team and CTO, increasing efficiency and productivity across the organisation. You’ll play a key role in improving customer experience, team communication and the quality of our product.
Day to day you’ll….
- Be the first port of call for technical enquiries from other areas of the business.
- Troubleshoot technical problems, ensuring these are dealt with efficiently.
- Thoroughly test bug fixes and new features.
- Manage our bug and issue tracking process.
- Author and edit documentation, alongside maintaining our internal wiki and information.
- Manage Alpha and Beta releases, and other customer testing groups, ensuring feedback and issues are collated.
- Assist the Customer Service Team with escalated technical enquiries.
You’ll author and edit documentation to help users help themselves, alongside maintaining our internal wiki and information.
You’ll enjoy creating handover documentation that not only enables us to accurately record our internal workings, but also ensures other business areas feel fully equipped to communicate opportunities, created by new features and functionality, to our customers.
We’re keen on automated testing and are working to build this more heavily into the practices of the team. You’ll be involved in planning tests to help make this happen more and more, and depending on your skill level you might also help to create these.
Most of our people live in and around Brighton and are attracted to us because of our flexible hours, flat management structure and because they can make a difference, not just to Create, but for startups and businesses across the country.
